| Today we took a ferry to the Orkney Islands |

| We weren't permitted to stay in the car for this 1.5 hr crossing but they had a nice lounge. |

| And lots of other seating. We sat here for a while then retired to seats in a darker corner while we tried to sleep. |

| I teased my sister that this home just north of Thurso was her dream home... kind of looked like castle turrets in the back. |

| An hour into the trip we started seeing some of the islands of the Orkneys. A rock pinnacle called the Old Man of Hoy is visible when it's not foggy but we didn't see it. |
