Long Beach to Harmony Lakeside

From Long Beach we followed 101 south along the shore.
Yep that's Oregon across the mouth of the Columbia River.
You can just make out parts of the bridge that crosses here.
The bridge has a mid-height section, then a section close to the water before arching into a high span.
Here's a telephoto of the high span over by Astoria, OR.

We saw lots of old pilings in the water. Must have been docks along here.

Hwy 101 heads south here so we continued straight on Hwy 401.

We stopped at a view point in Skamokawa to see if we could spot any freighters plying the river.
Once on Hwy 4 headed toward Longview we spotted Mt. St. Helens off in the distance.
When we got on Hwy 12 headed toward Mossyrock, we got glimpses of Mt. Rainer (as seen here) to the north and Mt. St. Helens to the south. This was the first time we had seen them since it had been raining and overcast since we had arrived in Washington.
