Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania

There is lots of information about the various early railroads in the US with emphasis on Norfolk Southern in the displays before this timeline.

The museum was almost completely indoors and temperature controlled.  Lovely on a hot day.  We did quickly look at the outdoor stock before retreating to the indoor comfort.

Bye-bye caboose!

I never thought of how steam locomotives got the water!  The information in the next few photos is very interesting!

A wooden snow plow?!

I can't believe I don't have the photos and information on the refrigerator cars that introduced the people to the fruits and vegetables from different areas of the country!
We had parked in the Strasberg Railroad parking area instead of by the museum so we saw this old steam locomotive being hitched to this rail car.
