We decided to hike south from Spooner Summit from where Hwy 50 crosses the Carson Mountains.
The first 20 minutes or so all we did was climb. It wasn't constantly steep but it is all uphill. Then there's a little flat area before we continued to climb again.
The trail is used by hikers, bikers and horseback riders so we had to watch out for them. We never saw a horse but saw some of their droppings. We saw a few bikes. I can't imagine going up that hill on a bike!
Our first glimpse of Lake Tahoe during our hike.
We finally got to a good viewing spot.
We hiked about three miles before we turned around. That was enough for me but Nolan wasn't tired at all.
