Taughannock Falls State Park - New York

Pronounced "tuh-GAN-uck," according to the locals
We started at the top, walked the North Rim Trail to the bottom and the South Rim Trial back up.  The Gorge Trail was closed.  This is the Upper Falls

The falls for which the park is named.

Click on photo to enlarge for reading.
From this view point we could see where they were working on the gorge trail.. Can you see the construction equipment?

Saw something else on the bank of the creek.  I'm sure you can't see it in this photo.  Look for the black spot on the shoreline in the middle of the photo.

Can you see it yet
Looks like this vulture was eating fish.

Watkins Glen State Park, New York

We walked up the Gorge Trail and back down on the Indian Trail although the Indian Trail doesn't come all the way back but merges onto the Gorge Trail

Minnehaha Falls has cut a heart-shaped hole.

Here the trail cuts behind the falls.

Heading up the Spiral Tunnel

The overhead Suspension Bridge

I took this photo because of the spiral of foam bobbing besides the end of the log.

The foam cone was as large as a basketball.

The stream runs between the two rocks in the distance.

Zooming in on the crack between the rocks, we can see the falls on the other side.

Glen Cathedral

Central Cascade and the bridge that crosses the gorge above it

There was some sort of latticed ironwork in this pool.

Look, water running out of a rock....

Course the Dutchman has to stick his finger in it!
