Blueberry Picking

Our neighbors invited us along to the local Blueberry Farm for a u-pick experience.

The blueberry bushes were mostly 6' tall or more but there were some shorter 4' ones.

They were planted in rows with an irrigation line running along the bottoms.

Most places you could get between rows easily, but others were very dense.
Each person was issued a bucket with a rope so it could be hung around the neck.  Buckets ranged in size from 2 pint to 6 pint.  We each got a 6 pint and started picking. Filled our buckets with 1 1/2 gallons of blueberries at $2 a pint.
At home we washed and sorted between those still red, those blue and firm and those few that were blue and needed eaten soon.  We laid them out on towels to dry so we could freeze most of them.

The blueberries were a range of sizes with some almost as big as a quarter.
