Wrigley Mansion

This mansion was built by William Wrigley Jr. as a 50th wedding anniversary present. It is built on top of a hill with 360° views.

This grass would be hard to mow.
The front of the house.
A view from the front porch.
The ceiling just as you step into the entry.
A cantilevered staircase goes around the entry.
There is a very small room in the entry called the "gum room". The walls and ceiling are covered in gum wrappers.
The main living room.
One of only two Steinway pianos built this size. This one was rebuilt as a player piano.
Mrs. Wrigley could sit anywhere in the room and start the piano playing the song of her choice by pushing the corresponding button on this remote.

The bathrooms are all tiled in Catalina Tile, a business owned by Wrigley on Catalina Island, which he owned.

Spice Clips and cabinet reorganization

I've always been unhappy on this kitchen cabinet and how difficult my spices were to get out of the mess.

See what I mean?
So I found something online called Spice Clips. The are like the broom clips that hold brooms and mops up by they are made of plastic and adheare with sticky tape.
Doesn't that look better? Not perfect but much better.
At least now I can get to all the spices without having to dig them out of a pile. I actually have spice clips on one more cabinet door.

Holiday Inflatables

There were a lot of inflatable Christmas decorations in the park for Christmas.
The next three photos are of the same inflatables but the one moves so you can see what's happening.

It's your choice if the reindeer is pulling Santa out of the chimney or pushing him in.

This one also moves. Santa opens and closes the trailer door. Yes, it's an RV camper trailer.
Too cute!

Sunscape's Uninvited Resident

There is at least one javalina (have-a-lean-a) in the park. They can not be shot except for certain times of the year. We've been tracking it so we can determine where it hangs out. It's been know to run through our site.
Nolan saw it run by the Activity Center.
