Wellington Miscellaneous

I saw these hood-mounted mirrors on a lot of cars in Wellington.

I love Wikipedia.  Here's what it has to say about L&P: "Lemon & Paeroa, also known as L&P, is a sweet soft drink manufactured in New Zealand. Created in 1907, it was traditionally made by combining lemon juice with carbonated mineral water from the town of Paeroa but is now owned and manufactured by multi-national Coca-Cola.
The comically pretentious advertising slogan "World famous in New Zealand" has become a popular New Zealand saying. It is used to describe items that are famous within New Zealand but unknown in the rest of the world and implies that similar items and people in larger countries would have a far higher media profile and would be famous worldwide."

We were naughty and stopped by the grocery store across the street for some dessert and traveling snacks.  We both got a slice of cake.  This was mine and it is called Opera.  It's a French cake made with layers of almond sponge cake soaked in coffee syrup, layered with ganache and coffee French buttercream, and covered in a chocolate glaze. Its namesake originates from the layers resembling the levels of an opera house. It was good but there are others I prefer.

We did a little early evening strolling on the esplanade along the harbor.  Loved this huge sign and we watched as tourists stood in the "L" for photos before we joined the line.

There were a few information panels, but most were hard to read.

This area is all on reclaimed land.  In the background, the tall building is our hotel with the grocery store just to the bottom left.

We saw a few sculptures and fun stuff during our walk.
