Headed Home 11/30/25

Disembarkation day.  6 am and they are still unloading luggage from the ship and putting it into the terminal.

For those of you who have never been on a cruise, you can set your luggage out into the hallway the night before and they will put it in the terminal for you to pick up.  I wanted to keep too many things with me overnight, so I hauled my own bag out.

Goodbye Venus

Banksia bush.  This is the type of plant that produced the seed pod I saw in the gift shop at SkyRail in Cairns.

I was disappointed that I couldn't find any information about these old silos I saw on the way to the airport.

Sydney has an extensive road tunnel system

Just be sure you know where you are going because it branches off in different directions and you won't have any GPS helping you out!

Approaching the Sydney Airport

While looking at the map, trying to find information about this decorated hill (never did find any).  Google maps showed the road we were on wasn't completed until sometime in 2025.

While waiting for our flight, I was watching all the different airplanes.  Lots of airlines I had never heard of.  This one is a South Korean low-cost airline

Hmm, two Chinese airlines made me wonder how many Chinese airline there are.  346!  That includes both state-operated and civilian-run airlines.

I'm assuming this chute is for luggage.

HongKong Airlines plane passing on the other side of the T'way

This one is Malaysian

Jetstar is Australian.  I am assuming the tower is the home of the air traffic controllers

Of course, this one is Finnish

The daytime flight to San Fransisco was more than 13 hours long and arrived just before 7 am.

Foggy day in San Francisco. From SFO we took a plane to Eugene, Oregon arriving 1 minute after we had flown out of Sydney.  Closest you can come to time travel.  😁

My Microsoft email account kept sending me this notice during the trip.
