The breaking off bars on the three on the left with three ice hooks in the middle and two saws on the right.

The Blue Water Bridge is the bridge between Port Huron, Michigan and Sarnia, Ontario.  There are actually two bridges.  We came over the westbound bridge into the US.

Coupons for ice could be purchased and given to the ice deliverer.  The 25-50-75-100 placards were used to tell the ice delivery guy how many pounds of ice you wanted.

Wellesley Island State Park

Nothing like a good hike in the woods!  The trails varied considerable during our 4.25 mile hike and this was probably the easiest part.

Good views of the St. Lawrence along the Eel Bay trail

Good views of the Narrows channel from the Narrows Trail
Also spotted these nesting osprey along the narrows

Nolan caught this photo of a pileated woodpecker along the South Bay Trail

Then I found one in a tree pecking away

1000 Islands area of New York

American span of the 1000 Island Bridge.  This one leads from the US mainland to Wellesley Island

We stopped at this roadside park in Cape Vincent, NY.  It is along where Lake Ontario empties into the St. Lawrence River.  We thought this gazebo was cute.  Even had a gull decoration on the top.

well... we thought it was a decoration until it moved!

Just enjoying the breeze!
We are lucky that we have friends that took us out on their yacht.
It was Independence Day when we say this patriotic looking freighter going by.  I don't know if it was American or not.  Notice the smaller boat passing by it?

Our friends took us to Grindstone Island State Park where we had a great walk through the woods.
