Ireland Trip - Kilkenny Castle



The Kilkenny Castle brochure tells me that the original Anglo-Norman stone castle was built by William Marshal, 4th Earl of Pembroke during the first decade of the 13th century. 




It later became the principal Irish residence of the powerful bulter family for almost 600 years.  They added on to it extensively.  We were not allowed to take photos inside but it was an interesting tour.
